Leona Lewis Upstart Tops Charts
Leona Lewis (along with Amy Winehouse) has topped the UK pop charts. The Leona Lewis British Invasion has not taken over the U. S., however, but this is about to change. Just as American Idol pop stars have been popping up at all of the major music awards shows for the past couple of years, Leona Lewis is the Brits answer to this as the recent winner of X-Factor also staring Simon “Bar Sinister” Cowell.
Leona Lewis, a 22-year-old singing starlet on the rise has a huge single on the charts called “Bleeding Love” that keeps picking up steam after 10 weeks. Lewis also belts out “A Moment Like This” rivaling American Idol’s Kelly Clarkson.
But, what has impressed Muse Dog most is the Leona Lewis version of “I Will Always Love You” made famous by Whitney Houston and Dolly Parton. Lewis’s version of this song on X-Factor was one of the best to be vocalized in years, though many have tried to top the aforementioned divas.
Tune into Leona Lewis and give her a listen. She may just have the pipes and the moxie to give Mariah and Whitney a run, without all the divisive diva baggage.
